Rachel Miner is an American TV, movie and Broadway actress who developed a passion for acting as early as age 2. When she was 8, Rachel began training with an acting coach and landed herself an agent the following year. By 10 years old, she was cast as the young Alice in the 1990 Woody Allen romantic comedy “Alice.” That same year, Miner won a recurring role as on the TV drama “Guiding Light,” which became turned into a regular role. As her portrayal of Michelle Bauer from 1990 to 1995, Rachel earned an Emmy nomination and two Young Artist Awards.
With Miner being a third-generation of Miners in the entertainment industry, it was expected for Rachel to join her Off-Off-Broadway director mom and Emmy-winning director dad Peter Miner. At 14 years old, Rachel appeared on stage for Laura Cahill's “The Way at Naked Angels.” She then made her Broadway debut on the Wendy Kesselman adaptation of “The Diary of Anne Frank” in 1997. While adding to her theatre credits, Rachel Miner also appeared in various TV shows and movies in the 1990s, which included lending her voice work for the TV documentary “The American Experience,” and minors roles in the 1997 comedy-drama “Henry Fool” and the crime drama “Joe the King.”
In 2000, Rachel Miner was cast in the Donald Margulies adaptation of “God of Vengeance.” The following year, she played Sandy in the Rebecca Gilman production of “Blue Surge” at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre. She reprised this role for the production’s run at NYC’s The Public Theatre.
Also in 2001, Rachel Miner worked opposite Brad Renfro in “Bully,” which earned her a Best Actress Award at the Stockholm Film Festival. In 2004, she was seen in the crime drama flick “Haven” and had a recurring role in the romantic comedy sitcom “NY-LON.” The following year, Rachel appeared in four films – “Guy in Row Five,” “Man of God,” “Little Athens” and “Circadian Rhythm.” Miner also guest-starred on the TV shows “Bones” and “Medium” in 2005. She also appeared on Yellowcard’s “Only One” music video in 2005.
2006 was a busy year for Rachel Miner. She appeared in the thriller flick “Fatwa,” in the romantic comedy “Love and Debate,” and had a small role in the Scarlett Johansson movie “The Black Dahlia.” That same year, Miner starred on the horror film “Penny Dreadful” and guest-starred on two TV shows – “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Without a Trace.” During this time, Rachel also participated in two shorts – a drama opposite James Franco in “Grasshopper,” and the fantasy “Onion Underwater.”
In 2007, Rachel Miner appeared in the horror films “Tooth & Nail” and “Cult.” She also had roles in the drama movies “The Blue Hour,” “The Still Life,” and “The Memory Thief.” From 2007 to 2008, Miner landed the role of Dani in "Californication" and had guest roles in TV shows "Fear Itself" and "The Cleaner." Rachel continued to add to her movie portfolio with acting credits on the 2008 drama “Hide,” and the 2009 sci-fi “The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations.”
In 2009, aside from appearing on the TV series “CSI: Miami,” “Supernatural,” and “Life,” Rachel Miner also joined the viral YouTube series “Reckless Tortuga,” appearing on comedy sketches like “Psycho Girlfriend.” From 2010 to 2011, Rachel Miner appeared in various TV shows including “Cold Case,” “The Online Gamer,” “Army Wives,” “No Ordinary Family,” “Terriers,” and “Criminal Minds.” She also landed the female lead on the horror flick “51,” and supporting roles on “Life of Lemon,” “Dark as Day,” “Thicker,” and “Replicas.” In 2011, she won a lead role in the horror film “House of Good and Evil.”
